The Govenaires Drum and Bugle Corps is a non-profit organization which has been in existence since 1927. The Corps was first organized as the St. Peter Legion Corps in 1927. In 1944, under the direction of Cliff Hermel, the corps became active again and went on to win many state and local VFW and American Legion titles. As one of the oldest competing drum corps in the world and as one of only three competing drum corps in the state, the Govenaires are truly good will ambassadors for St. Peter, the State of Minnesota, and the drum corps activity.
Mu Performing Arts
Mu was first founded in 1992 as Theater Mu, a theater company dedicated to bringing Asian American voices to the stage in the Twin Cities. After forming Mu Daiko, a taiko drumming ensemble, the company rebranded itself as Mu Performing Arts, reflecting our broad artistic base of theater, taiko, and artist development. Mu Performing Arts remains Minnesota’s only pan-Asian performing arts organization, and has grown into the second largest Asian American performing arts company in the United States.

Ecstatic Drumming and Dancing at One Yoga.
Enter into the Groovelicious Rhytmocity of Drumming The Soul Awake, lead by OY Executive Director Jaime Meyer. Thousands of people over the last 12 years have experienced the "Serious Wahoo" of Jaime's community drum groups that combine the ecstatic fun of drumming and dancing with spiritual meditations drawn from shamanic traditions throughout the world. Now he brings the drums to One Yoga on Fridays, "after hours," alternating with Margie's chanting. So every Friday you know there's deep fun to be had at One Yoga. Bring a drum, rattle or noisemaker, or borrow one from Jaime's whopper collection. No skill, no experience needed. All that is required is an openness, curiosity, and yearning to become the embodied, spiritual creature you were born to become.
