Friends of the Arts is seeking a Youth Representative!
St. Louis Park Friends of the Arts (FOTA) is seeking a high school student from the community with a passion for the arts to serve as youth representative on the Board of Directors. FOTA is a nonprofit community organization dedicated to supporting, organizing, enhancing and promoting all art forms in St. Louis Park. FOTA connects people and organizations around the arts, shares arts-related information and resources and coordinates community arts programs.
What is a Youth Representative?
The FOTA Youth Representative is a part of our team who helps us by contributing ideas from a student perspective, helping update social media sites such as Facebook, assisting with communication between FOTA and local high schools, and representing the board at various city events. Board meetings are usually once a month, during the evening on the last Thursday of the month. Youth Representatives should be able to attend most of the monthly meetings, and can serve the board anywhere from one school year to three years!
Should I Apply?
Friends of the Arts' Board is especially interested in current 9th and 10th graders who are creative, outgoing, and responsible. Any student that is passionate about the arts––anything from visual to performing to literary––and interested in helping their city by learning about community planning should apply!
