sidewalk poetry

16 new poems were sandblasted in our community's sidewalks for the most recent iteration of the Sidewalk Poetry Project!

Head over to the Fern Hill neighborhood -- between Toledo Ave and Quentin Ave, and between W 26th St. and W 29th St., with one poem in front of a gazebo in nearby Twin Lakes Park!

Fall 2021:

Louisiana Bridge over Minnehaha Creek

Artists Gita Ghei, Lori Greene, and Randy Walker will install Perennial Flow this fall on and under the Louisiana Avenue bridge over Minnehaha Creek. The artwork speaks to uplifting transformation and movement, infinite cycle and renewal.

Westwood Hills Nature Center

Installed in 2020, local artist Emily Lavalier’s Waterfall Observation Deck is a site-specific high-density collage at the new Westwood Hills Nature Center Interpretive Center. This collage includes thousands of pieces of paper, hundreds of layered images, and is framed in a hand-built, locally sourced frame.
